Big Cats Holidays

We offer a number of specially designed big cat tours which will provide you with unique opportunities to observe these charismatic mammals.

Big Cat Tours

Big cats are among the world’s most admired and most sought-after mammals, and Naturetrek has the broadest and most comprehensive range of holidays in search of big cats. We offer holidays to watch all of the world’s most iconic cat species including: Tigers in India and Nepal, Jaguars in the Pantanal, Pumas in Chile and Snow Leopards in India, as well as safaris to see a superb variety of Africa’s cats such as Lions, Cheetah and Leopards. You can also look for Asiatic Lions in India, and Leopards in Sri Lanka on our tours. We do not neglect the smaller species of cat and we also offer dedicated short breaks which go in search of Wildcat and Iberian Lynx.

Our Big Cat Specialist Recommends

‘Naturetrek has been instrumental in designing, researching  and pioneering many of the big cat (and smaller cat!) tours on the market. Our dedicated Tiger watching tours have an unparalleled 100% success record with sightings, while if you want a holiday dedicated to looking for Jaguars, you can’t do any better than our ‘Brazil – Just Jaguars!’ tour. Our ‘South Africa – Just Cats!’ holiday offers a chance to see a wide variety of cats close to in stunning scenery.’ - Tom Mabbett

Chile - Just Pumas!

Transportation and group size worked very well. The guides and drivers were very keen and looked after us very well without being overbearing. The location of Torres del Paine was spectacular and the guide was keen to get us to see all the 'special' scenic sights. The flights across South America were spectacular in themselves especially in Chile where the Andes were amazing even flying over Torres del Paine and beside Mt Aconcagua! The King Penguin extension was well worth it not only for the colony but for the wildlife in the Strait of Magellan viewed from the ferry.
Our view is that the balance of the itinerary is just about right. Pousso is fairly basic but gives a good starter for this sort of trip and the length of time there is enough. The Flotel is very good and probably better all round than we expected, particularly the accommodation and food. The sightings of birds and mammals probably could not have been bettered...particularly the Ocelot. Marcos Felix was excellent in all respects. The most important aspect of this type of holiday is having a tour leader/guide in whom you have complete trust in all respects. Marcos Felix satisfies that criteria very well. Marcos had an incredible knowledge and insight on all birds and mammals which he shared with us. It would have been much less of an experience without him.
I would like to praise our guide; his excellent eye for spotting the things we wanted to see, his attention to detail to ensure everything ran smoothly and his good humour at all times made for a brilliant trip.
