New tour: ‘Winter Photography in the Spanish Pyrenees’
Gabardito, Sergio Padura
We are delighted to announce the launch of our new 4-day 'Winter Photography in the Spanish Pyrenees' holiday, which will depart on Thursday 25th February. There are still spaces available, so if exploring a winter wonderland and watching iconic wildlife while also improving your photography skills sounds like your sort of holiday, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
The tour will be led by photographer Sergio Padura and will focus on enjoying the special winter light, spellbinding scenery and avian highlights of the region, including Wallcreeper and Lammergeier.
We will set off each day to take advantage of the amazing light conditions that prevail at this time of year – the sun will be low in the sky all day long creating ideal photographic conditions, against the backdrop of high snow-clad peaks, dramatic gorges, mountain forests and rushing rivers! Drawing on Sergio’s unrivalled knowledge of the area we will accompany him to secret locations within local natural parks where snow shoes may be used for those that wish!
Wildlife highlights that we anticipate include looking for Lammergeier, Griffon Vultures and Golden Eagles which are permanent residents of the Pyrenees, and our visit will also coincide with the Crane and Black Kite migration. In the pine forests we hope to come across Chamois seeking refuge from the cold. We’ll find our own refuge in the form of the welcoming and comfortable Casa Sarasa guest house situated beneath the pretty hilltop village of Berdún where, after a day in the field, we shall enjoy leisure time and evening meals by an open fire.
