Detlef Tibax
Detlef Tibax’ passion for the natural world originated from observing birds with his dad in the late 90s and trying to capture their personality and behavior in drawings. Over the years his passion for wildlife grew and translated itself in his academic studies by completing a MSc in Biology. Currently working as a sustainability engineer, he devotes his free time to wildlife painting and birdwatching. He spends all his holiday leave serving as a wildlife guide and a conservation biologist, which has allowed him to work with various wildlife guides, scientists and stunning animals in several European countries, Australia, South Africa, Tanzania and the United States. His main fieldwork has been with whales and dolphins, white sharks, African land mammals and birds. A recently witnessed Eurasian Lynx and a hunting Serval are amongst his most memorable wildlife experiences.
