Laura Benito
Laura was born in Barcelona, but grew up between Catalonia and the Montaña Palentina in northern Spain. Her passion for nature, and especially for animals, led her to study Biology at the University of Barcelona, specialising in Botany and Zoology. She followed this up with postgraduate courses and by participating in several research projects in Spain and Sweden. From the first, Laura was struck by the amazing biodiversity of the Montaña Palentina. Some years ago, she was lucky enough to meet the naturalist Tino Garcia, to whom she owes most of her knowledge about the area and its wildlife. Tino's enthusiasm and passion rubbed off on Laura, and she now lives in the Montaña Palentina. Laura works as a guide on several of Naturetrek's Spanish tours, including holidays to the Coto de Doñana; the Picos de Europa, La Montaña Palentina, wolf-watching holidays and our botanical tour to the Sierra de Guadarrama.
