Ecuador: Civil Unrest Update

Unfortunately, following civil unrest in Ecuador in early 2024, the Foreign Office is still advising against travel through the city of Guayaquil and neighbouring coastal provinces. This has impacted our previously popular Jocotoco Antpitta itinerary, which hasn’t operated since January 2024.

However, we can still offer this itinerary just by adjusting arrangements at the beginning of the trip, flying to Loja rather than Guayaquil, and skipping the wetland reserve of Manglares Churute on the coast.
