Gambia in Style

We are delighted that Mandina Lodges is converting one of its ‘Jungle Lodges’ to include two king size beds, allowing us to accept twin room and room share bookings on our ‘The Gambia in Style!’ holiday for the first time!

Mandina Lodges is set within 1,000 acres of the peaceful Makasutu Cultural Forest and borders the secluded mangrove-lined tributary of the River Gambia. There are just 9 striking chalets, plus a large pool which is perfect for cooling off during the heat of the day and a thatched dining area where meals are served al fresco.

Around the lodge, guests frequently encounter such avian delights as African Golden Oriole, Yellow-fronted Tinkerbird, Bearded Barbet, White-throated and Little Bee-eaters, Pied and Blue-breasted Kingfishers, Green-headed, Scarlet-chested and Beautiful Sunbirds, Northern Crombec and Violet Turac. We enjoy morning and afternoon wildlife-watching on foot and using traditional dugout canoes, and there will be two full-day excursions to some of the best nature reserves in the Gambia.

Until now, the lodges have only offered double occupancy, but with one twin lodge now available, we are delighted to take limited bookings from single travellers wishing to book on a sharing basis, or friends, couples and travelling partners who wish to share twin accommodation.
