Summary
Spring is a simply wonderful time to be on Greece’s Peloponnese peninsula which bursts into life at this time of year. This new 8-day holiday is based on the north-east coast of the Peloponnese, in a delightful hotel that specialises in both vegetarian and vegan cuisine and is located only a few steps away from the shore of the Gulf of Corinth, next to a three kilometre-long beach.
During this relaxing break we will visit Lake Stymphalia – one of the EU’s Natura 2000 reserves – which will be teeming with birds, reptiles, amphibians and plants in April. Here we will search for Sombre and Penduline Tits, Short-toed Eagle, Nose-horned Viper, Ionian Wall Lizard, Yellow Bee-orchid, Scarce Swallowtail and many more. On another day we will head to the north-west coast to explore Kalogria’s wonderful Stone Pine forests. Migrant Golden Orioles, Great Spotted Cuckoos and Collared Flycatchers rest on their way north, whilst the forest’s varied flowers, reptiles and other wildlife include Balkan Green Lizard, Nose-horned Viper, Worm Snake and Marginated Tortoise. The nearby Lake Strofilia is also home to, amongst others, Dalmatian Pelican, Greater Flamingo, Purple Heron, Glossy Ibis and European Pond Terrapin.
We will also head into the mountains in search of Rock Thrush, Alpine Newt, Greek Clouded Yellow and Spotted Fritillary. Add to this the Peloponnese’s empty beaches, ancient chapels, friendly people and mouth-watering Mediterranean vegan and vegetarian cuisine and we have all the ingredients for an unforgettable Greek adventure!
Whether you are an omnivore, vegetarian or vegan, we warmly welcome you to join a tour (or two!) from our new collection of vegetarian and vegan wildlife tours.

Tour Leader: Rob Mileto
Rob puts his interest in wildlife and nature conservation down to being brought up in a 'new town' where fields, ponds and hedgerows were constantly being turned into houses and roads. After graduating in Ecology and Nature Conservation he worked for the Shropshire Wildlife Trust and RSPB, and spent two years wardening Aride Island Nature Reserve in the Seychelles. He has also travelled extensively in east and southern Africa and undertaken voluntary conservation work and research in Tanzania, Namibia and Zimbabwe. He now runs a wildlife consultancy in Shropshire but disappears off on long holidays and advisory projects abroad whenever he can.
