For 40 years, Sujan has been watching birds and other wildlife, during which his passion has taken him all over India, and 20 other countries including Bhutan, South Africa, Indonesia (Papua), Myanmar, Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, Brazil, Uganda, Gabon, Mexico, Tanzania and Bangladesh. He has seen over 1,140 of India's bird species and over 4,200 worldwide!
Sujan is involved with various biological surveys and projects. He has worked hard to promote birdwatching in the Northeast of India. He is the Founder and Secretary of the Birdwatchers' Society, based in West Bengal, and is a reviewer for eBird in India. He is also the country representative for the Oriental Bird Club and is the country ambassador for Zeiss Optics.
Sujan has been leading Naturetrek tours for over 20 years; his experience, exceptional fluency in English, infectious enthusiasm for wildlife and friendly disposition, make him one of India’s leading naturalist guides.
