Naturetrek Wildlife Photography Holidays
Our programme of dedicated wildlife photography holidays offers a range of tours aimed at wildlife photographers of varying levels of experience and ability, including keen amateurs looking to hone his/her skills, beginners with ambitions to learn and improve and accomplished photographers seeking exceptional photographic opportunities.
Each holiday is pitched at a particular skill level which is detailed in the individual tour itinerary, to enable you to take your photography to the next level. By working with outstanding photographers who share our goals of spending quality, informed time watching — and capturing — once-in-a-lifetime moments, we are confident that joining one of our Wildlife Photography tours will not only improve your techniques and sharpen your reflexes, but will also give you the best possible chance of getting an excellent image. As well as flora and fauna, several of our tours include fantastic opportunities to photograph landscapes and the night sky.
Our photography tour leaders are professionals with a great deal of accumulated expertise — and many awards and accolades between them — and so will ensure that you are in the best possible location at the right time of day for both wildlife and landscape photography. Our time in the field will focus on maximising the best lighting conditions and will also ensure that we have plenty of time to wait for things to happen. Wildlife does not perform on cue and our leaders and local guides will be constantly assessing the situation to ensure we are in the right place at the right time. Perseverance will be key to achieving good results! The best photographic opportunities often happen once you slow down, and wait. At that point you really begin to notice your surroundings, and appreciate the landscapes, plants and insects (that also make fantastic subjects!), as well as the birds and mammals that are the focus of many of our dedicated photography tours.
Being a good wildlife photographer is not about getting ‘the’ photo at the expense of the subject. On these tours we will cause minimal disturbance to our surroundings and wildlife, while trying to maximise our photographic success. Our group sizes on these holidays are strictly limited, not only to enable each participant to have plenty of room in which to work, but, just as importantly, to enable you to benefit from the dedicated time of our expert leaders. Our leaders are there entirely for the benefit of the group, to sharpen your techniques, challenge your thinking and help ensure you are getting the most out of your trip at all times. Our tours include time in the evening to review tour photos, during which your leader will advise on processing and pass on further advice about technique.
