Two new tours to Kenya!

We are delighted to re-launch two of our popular tour itineraries to Kenya:
Go Slow ... in Kenya's Masai Mara
The most leisurely of our Kenya itineraries! The acacia-dotted grasslands of Kenya’s world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve are home to one of our planet’s greatest concentrations of wildlife. A huge variety of game grazes the grassy plains, and with such an abundance of prey on offer, it comes as no surprise that the Mara is also one of the best reserves in Africa to enjoy sightings of predators, especially Lion, Cheetah and Leopard. A kaleidoscope of colourful sunbirds, glossy starlings, bee-eaters, rollers and other bird species offer an interesting supporting cast, whilst no visit to the region is complete without time in the company of the Masai people themselves. This Naturetrek ‘Go Slow’ holiday is based for seven nights at the small and comfortable Ilkeliani Tented Camp, located on the edge of the Masai Mara Game Reserve. We avoid the long drive from Nairobi by instead flying into and out of the Mara, and with all game drives optional, you can go at your own pace throughout the holiday.

The most comprehensive of any of our holidays in Kenya! This two-week wildlife and birdwatching safari journeys through some of the country’s most spectacular scenery and into its richest areas for wildlife. We begin in Samburu National Park in the arid north, home to Reticulated Giraffe and Grevy’s Zebra. From here we move south to the forested slopes of Mount Kenya and then drop into the Rift Valley to visit Lakes Baringo, Bogoria and Nakuru. We conclude with three days in the acacia-dotted grasslands of the Masai Mara, home to Masai Giraffe, Cheetah, Lion, Spotted Hyena and a diverse and colourful birdlife. Our September departure is timed to coincide with the Great Migration, during which time the vast herds of Blue Wildebeest and Plains Zebra will be enjoying the grasslands of the Masai Mara, while our February tour will enjoy excellent game viewing but find fewer fellow tourists in the parks and reserves.
