We stayed at the splendid hotel in Tamion and spent a leisurely week exploring the mountain trails searching for Alpine wildlife (birds, flowers, butterflies) whilst enjoying the magnificent scenery this part of northern Italy has to offer. As there are few tourists in October, we had many of the trails to ourselves. The air is clear and the trees are changing colour making this a great time to go for stunning scenery and mountain views (and great for photographs too). I have been on many wildlife holidays with Naturetrek starting in 2011. For me, they are the best at providing a wide range of wildlife travel adventures for small groups of like-minded individuals. Their customer service is excellent, the leaders are truly professional and the trips are good value for money. I have had many great experiences and learnt so much. Long may they continue.

I travel extensively and usually organise my own trips to tropical destinations, but due to Covid restrictions I was limited to Europe this autumn. I chose Naturetrek because they have a very good reputation and they offered a trip that appealed to me. Everything was handled quickly and very professionally, from the moment I expressed interest in the trip until we returned to the UK afterwards. The guides were excellent, the hotel equally so, and I'll definitely travel with Naturetrek again.

Hotel Gran Mugon was very comfortable. Rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels and pillowcases daily. Meals were good to very good, and a good choice of beers and wines. Jessica and Luca were both excellent. Very knowledgeable on birds, mammals and flowers. Well organised, safe drivers. The group and leaders were all good company and the group size was perfect.

Both Jessica and Luca were extremely knowledgeable, good at spotting and identifying birds and flowers, and enthusiastic. Jessica took the time to get to know all of us and understand any individual needs or goals we might have for the trip. They seamlessly adapted the itinerary according to weather, fitness/abilities and specific interests or requirements of individuals in the group to try to ensure everyone’s expectations were met.
